SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY -- A supermarket clerk was in Lackawanna County court Wednesday to answer to theft charges.

Wendy Lovallo is accused of stealing nearly $8,000 in merchandise. She waived the charges against her onto trial.

County detectives say Lovallo worked at Rossi's Supermarket in Old Forge and stole the items between May and January.

Investigators say she would scan the purchases then void the transactions.
