WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY -- It's vaccination day in Wilkes-Barre. Shots for H1N1, commonly known as swine flu are being given at the city health center.

TheyÕre being administered through a shot or through a nasal vaccination. Susan Meehan took her boys out of school to get their shots. "They made more of a big deal out of the swine flu than the seasonal flu. As a parent you just worry a little more," said Meehan.

Susan's boy Sam now feels safe from swine flu. "Better cause I like, I won't get it probably because I got the shot," said Sam Meehan.

Wilkes-Barre city received more than 500 inject able and 100 nasal spray vaccines. More is on the way if needed.

Ishakara Spellman brought her 5 children to the Wilkes-Barre Health Department. One of her boys already had swine flu. Spellman says the vaccination is the way to go. "We all skeptical maybe of the shot but i think it's more important to get it than not to get it," said Spellman.

Wilkes-Barre's Health Department Director Ted Kross says, "We were waiting for this day for the last several months."

That's because swine flu concern has continued to grow. Just last week, classes were cancelled in the Pittston Area School District because of several confirmed H1N1 cases.

Kross says there should be enough vaccinations to go around in Wilkes-Barre. "A lot of parents are calling asking, should we take out kids out of school and I said no we should have enough vaccine to last through the day.Ó
