Talks to Avoid Strike in Lake-Lehman Unsuccessful - Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 10:17PM EST

LEHMAN TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY- Many students had the day off Friday because of the snow, but kids in the Lake-Lehman School District may get lots of days off. That's because teachers there will hit the picket lines starting Monday.

Teachers and the school board met Saturday afternoon in an attempt to avoid the strike - but word is those talks were unsuccessful. The stumbling blocks right now are healthcare and salary.

So unless there is an 11th hour resolution, teachers will strike Monday.
