TAMAQUA, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY- Firefighters in Schuylkill County battled a stubborn blaze in Tamaqua Monday afternoon.

The fire broke out in the 100-block of Gay Street just after 12:30 Monday afternoon.

Investigators say no one was home at the time, but a passerby saw smoke and reported the blaze.

No one was injured. The building's interior suffered heavy smoke and water damage.

Firefighters are still looking for the cause of the fire.
