TAMAQUA, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY- A man loses his leg after being hit by a car while unloading groceries early this morning.

It happened at Spruce and Hunter Streets in Tamaqua around 4:00 this morning. A man was unloading groceries from his car when a woman driving a maroon car crashed into it.

The man’s car was pushed up onto the sidewalk and he was trapped underneath. His leg was pinned and had to be amputated.

He was flown to St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem and there’s no word on his condition. Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
