BLOOMSBURG, COLUMBIA COUNTY -- Eyewitness News reporter Kyla Campbell and photographer Derek Call had the tough task of following Tara Lynn around the Bloomsburg Fair. She's a Bloomsburg native who now lives in Kingston, and she knew exactly where to take us for the best food.
"The first place everyone should go to is Denny and Pearl's pizza, also known as Polock's, depending on which stand you're at," said Lynn. "It's, by far, the best pizza at the fair and stromboli, if you have a big enough appetite. But it's a must-have every year with sweet sauce. It's one-of-a-kind, there's nothing else like it."
Then she took us to Bowman's French Fries.
"It's under the blue tent," said Lynn. "They're just necessary. And they're fresh cut daily right there in front of you, fried in peanut oil, and they're awesome."
After all that food, it was time for a refreshing drink.
"It's called the best iced tea anywhere period, and it really is," said Lynn. "It's like southern sweet tea. You get enough sugar for your whole day, but it's awesome."
And finally, it's time for dessert.
"This is my last stop every day at the fair. It's a chocolate covered banana with sprinkles. You feel like you're almost eating healthy, because it's fruit," said Lynn, with a face that screamed sarcasm. "They're great."
Lynn says her stomach becomes a bottomless pit during fair week, but she held back.
"I thought we would do a normal person's full day - french fries, pizza, drink and dessert," said Lynn. "I might go continue to eat a gyro or some wedding soup, but I thought we'd try to tame it down for the every day fair-goer." | |
