Teen Arrested for Attempted Rape Near U. of Scranton - Monday, March 9, 2009 at 9:02PM EST

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- Police in Scranton have arrested a 16-year-old boy on attempted rape charges.
Officers say the youth was apprehended not long after a student at the University of Scranton was attacked early Saturday morning. The would be victim screamed and a neighbor came out after hearing her cry.

The attacker fled but was apprehended a short time later as he followed another female student near her dorm. The woman involved in the earlier attack identified the suspect for police.

Police are now trying to determine if their suspect was the individual involved in several other recent incidents of attempted rape and rape in the Scranton area.
