WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- A 19-year-old woman who admitted spray painting symbols of hate on a Wilkes-Barre synagogue went to court for sentencing.

Nora Rynkiewicz of Factoryville admitted spray painting anti-Semitic graffiti on Ohav Zedek Synagogue on South Franklin Street in March. A judge sentenced Rynkiewicz to serve 9 to 18-months in state prison.

She’ll also serve a two-year term of probation following her prison stay and must pay $8,500 in restitution and the cost of prosecution.

Rynkiewicz and a 17-year-old accomplice scrawled swastikas and derogatory words in German.
