WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY - Jury selection has wrapped-up in a history making murder trial in Luzerne County.

Sheriff's deputies helped carry 79-year-old Louis Patrick into the Luzerne County courthouse Monday morning. He is one of the oldest murder defendents to ever stand trial in Luzerne County.

Prosectors say he stabbed his live-in girlfriend, Doris Lemons, nearly 70 times last July at their home in Wilkes-Barre. Officials say seven men and five women have been selected to hear the case.

Police say Louis Patrick is no stranger to the law. He also served time in prison in the 1990s for stabbing another homeless man to death.

Testimony in the case is expected to begin at 8:30 AM on Tuesday morning.

If convicted, Patrick could spend the rest of his life in prison.
