POTTSVILLE, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY-It is a debate 83 years in the making and a very large crowd turned out at -the Sovereign Majestic Theatre in downtown Pottsville..to listen in..
Friday's debate centered on the most controversial event of the first half-century of professional
football, the banishment of the 1925 Pottsville Maroons from the National
Football League.
David Fleming , ESPN Magazine writer and author of the book on the team entitled "Breaker Boys: The NFL's Greatest Team and the Stolen 1925 Championship" debated Joe Horrigan, the vice president of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The two battle the issue out in front of judges and a large crowd of Maroon Supporters.
