SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY --You see "The Office" weekly on WBRE. Now WBRE News reporter Jeff Chirico gets personal with one of them. During last weekend's "Office Convention" Creed Bratton opened up about life before "The Office" and whether he's anything like his character.

Of all the dysfunctional employees at Dunder-Mifflin, Creed Bratton is the creepiest and most bizarre. The former rock star of the 1960s band "The Grass Roots" portrays a fictionalized version of himself. He says his gig on "The Office" has changed his life. "I was living hand to mouth. The Grass Roots thing went well for a while then I left for Europe and performed in some folk music clubs. I cam back, did bit parts in movies. I did some movies.

In 2005 he landed the role on the show as a drugged-up, forgetful conman of an employee. So when we asked him if he's anything like his character, we couldn't get a straight answer.

"They talk about him being on drugs and being addled. Thats not me. Let's see. I do have four toes...I am a kleptomaniac. But that's all."

Creed Bratton says he thinks the show is getting better as the cast grows closer. He says their timing improves as the cast becomes friends. The timing allows the cast to carry on fast-paced dialogue without missing a beat.

He considers the greatest compliment when someone thinks the show in unscripted and a real documentary.
