SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY --While “The Office” has become a hit on television, there's plenty about Dunder-Mifflin online too. And those involved with the production say blogging has really boosted the show's popularity.

In honor of the bloggers, hundreds gathered for a Bloggers Breakfast at the Hilton in downtown Scranton. Cast members Brian Baumgartner (Kevin Malone), Bobby Ray Shafer (Bob Vance), Kate Flannery (Meredith Palmer) and Andy Buckly (David Wallace, CFO) spoke with fans about the show and the countless blogs that dish about “The Office.”

Flannery says "it’s a great way for me to document what has happened in this episode." Flannery writes on tvguide.com. Brian keeps busy with a myspace page. But outsiders write too. In fact Jennie Tan of Palo Alto, California developed officetally.com --the hottest place to find the latest news and reviews. Tan says "it’s been unbelievable the response I've been getting. I think it’s just because people are so information-hungry for any possible tidbit on the show." It's become so popular among fans and cast members Jennie is on the verge of celebrity status among Dunderheads. In fact, one reader presented the blogger with a gift.

Baumgartner says the blogging world has been vital to the success of the show. “The early online support that we got for the show was tremendously important for growing ratings and getting the fan base solidified."
