South Williamsport, Lycoming County-
A tradition years in the making continues this week at the Little League World Series in South Williamsport.
The trading of pins has become almost as popular as the baseball games themselves. Dozens of traders spend hours bargaining over their favorite pins at the Little League International Complex. Some go for older, harder-to-find pins. Others search out a favorite team or company logo.
13-year-old Ryan Kehoe, of Quakerstown, explained, "I like the Saudi's because they are just a cool pin and they always come up with these awesome designs on their pins. It's just the excitement of getting a new pin and seeing what other people have, and just trying to get the pin that you want."
Collectors say pin trading is a great way to meet new people from all around the world, and adds another fun element to the Little League World Series. | |
