Theater Makeover Act II - Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 3:35PM EST

STROUDSBURG - It's act two in a Pocono Theater make over. Workers are restoring the front of the Sherman Theater so it looks the way it did when it opened in 1929. The inside was fixed up several years ago. Now it's the facade's turn.

If all the world's a stage, then Bill Kelley is an actor with many roles.

"One of the fun things about the Sherman Theater is that we all do it all," he said.

Bill is the Technical Director at the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg. He works on lighting, set design, and construction.

"It's a hobby that I do all day every day," he laughed.

Bill is restoring the front of the historic theater. The Sherman plans to build a box office that will extend into the building. They'll replace the current doors with something more energy efficient. They also plan to replace the marquee with something more like the original.

Kelley said, "My vision is to see a red carpet and lots of nice lighting and lots of people coming in here."

That's the same vision Sara Ferguson has. She owns the performing arts studio next door to the Sherman.

She said, "I think it's wonderful. I think it's about time that it's going to be taken care of. I think it's going to be a beautiful facade when it's finished."

Though it doesn't look so beautiful now and ticket buyers have to squeeze through the construction to get inside, Ferguson says the show must go on. And when the curtain goes up on the new front, the Sherman Theater will be better than ever.

"We can deal with this little bit of nonsense going on right now for what the end result is going to be," she said.

Bill added, "It's a labor of love. It's fun."
