LaPLUME, LACKAWANNA COUNTY - It was a special day of learning for 125 students Friday morning in Lackawanna County. Third graders from Dunmore were invited to Keystone College for the annual "Kids Go to College Day."

"It's kind of different, because we get to move around and do activities and that's fun," student Nine MacClean said.

From doing arts and crafts indoors, to playing in the outdoors, the kids took part in several different activities. The goal of the program was to get the kids to see what life is like on a college campus.

"We've went on field trips before, but I think this is my favorite because we got to come down and see everything," student Sophie Foskot said.

While the event exercised the kid's minds and bodies, it also helped out students from Keystone College's education program, who volunteered to help out with the program.

"I'm getting teaching experience from it and I love working with elementary kids and they're excitement radiates into myself and I get excited just watching them," Keystone College senior Allison Dowling said.

"I just enjoy working with kids. I coach. I enjoy being around the kids and helping them out and getting them to see the college experience," Keystone College student Bob Galli.

Next week, Keystone College will hold another "Kids Go to College Day" for students from the Lackawanna Trail school district.
