This Saturday Night Meant for Shoveling Snow

This Saturday Night Meant for Shoveling Snow - Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 11:10PM EST

FACTORYVILLE, WYOMING COUNTY- People all over the area spent Saturday night cleaning up the snow. WYOU News traveled to Wyoming County where nearly 6” of snow fell.

Slowly but surely John Kman of Factoryville shoveled his sidewalk Saturday night. He says the weekend whiteout wasn't too bad. “Not bad. Plows come by nice. They do a good job here. They come by and I didn't have much to clean up."

When we were in town those plows were out in full force. They were making sure everyone got around safely. As the snow and sleet still fell it did create quite a picturesque scene though.

But it’s a scene people like Chuck Truitt would like to forget. “It’s easy to get tired of it, especially when you have to keep the sidewalks and driveways clean," he said.

Many Keystone College students moved back a day early because of the storm. They chose to walk instead of drive to the supermarket. Margie Mahon said, “We were playing in the snow earlier. We were sledding and taking videos of it actually. Its pretty fun, I love it."

And fun is definitely what some people are looking forward to after all the work is done. “I don't mind the snow at all. In fact, I usually go ice fishing, you know," added Kman.
