SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY --Thousands of people gathered at the University of Scranton Friday morning to celebrate the kick-off of "The Office" Convention. Some fans arrived at 4am to get a front-row view of The Today Show's Al Roker who reported the weather for the NBC morning show.

Roker spoke with Pennsylvania Morning Meteorologist Dave Skutnik on Pennsylvania Morning just before 7am. Roker says he was thrilled to be in Scranton and was shocked by the enormous turnout. He says he and his daughter are fans of "The Office." He says his daughter was particularly excited when the show's lead character mentioned Roker in a recent episode.

Convention organizers expect more than a dozen cast members of "The Office" to attend this weekend's event. In addition thousands of fans have purchased tickets. For more information on the convention and the activities click on
