MAHONING TWP., CARBON COUNTY- A head-on crash in Carbon County killed three people this weekend. It happened Saturday just south of Jim Thorpe.

A truck and a van collided on Route 209 in Mahoning Township. Police say the driver of the truck, 63-year-old Thomas Miller of Nesquehoning, died at the scene.

The driver of the van, 72-year-old Joseph Valch of Bethlehem, also died at the scene. Yalch's wife Dorothy later died at the hospital.

A third vehicle was involved. Two people inside that car were not hurt.
