WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- Wilkes-Barre mayor Tom Leighton is running for state senate. Leighton wants the 14th state senate seat job. It's currently held by Raphael Musto. He's retiring at the end of the year. Leighton is in his second term as Wilkes-Barre's mayor, a job he's held since 2004. Mayor Lou Barletta in Hazleton , Mayor Chris Dougherty in Scranton and now Mayor Tom Leighton are all taking aim at higher offices.
