WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY -- Shots were fired in a Wilkes-Barre neighborhood Friday morning. And several arrests were made a short time later. Police were called to the 100 block of George Avenue near the Schiel's market after witnesses say one man shot at another. Within minutes, Eyewitness News cameras were there as three men were cuffed, just a half mile away on Scott Street. Officers say they found a shell casing along George Avenue, but no weapon. No injuries were reported but people who live in the neighborhood were frightened. Erin Oakley said, "I was in my room, and all of a sudden, out of nowhere, I hear slamming on doors and people yelling, 'Police!' And I was like, oh God, what happened?" Police aren't saying if the three men taken in for questioning face any charges. | |
