CLIFTON TWP., LACKAWANNA COUNTY- A state trooper found a real mess Tuesday morning when checking out a truck weigh station on I-380.

The officer found tons of garbage and trash dumped on Interstate 380 off Exit 14, the Gouldsboro exit.

PennDOT workers had to be called to clean up the big mess. They believe the junk came from a tractor trailer, possibly to avoid paying dumping fees at a landfill.

PennDOT says the cleanup is expensive. Spokesperson Karen Dussinger said, "Our budgets are pressed. Our people are pressed for time right now and this is just something that's totally irresponsible and disgusting."

Cleanup crews filled two large dumpsters with the illegally-dumped trash at that highway in the Poconos.
