It's almost a given we overeat during the holidays and Thanksgiving was no exception.

"Let’s go right to the top." A black Friday tradition, "we usually have a waiting list for the bikes," added Spinning Instructor Linda Reilly.

They peel and peddle off the pounds one day after all the turkey and trimmings at the "YMCA" in Wilkes-Barre.

Bill Finnegan came to cycle, "During the holidays you usually end up putting on a couple extra pounds, so we try and stay ahead of the curve with that."

Finnegan and 17 others signed up for a saddle in this two hour spinning class. "We're going to stay on a heavy hill."

Wellness Director Linda Reilly leads the group on a two hour trek through imaginary hills, flats and the open road.

Linda Reilly added, "it's a tradition to bring in people, who don't like to shop and who like to eat the night before."

Time passes by with a little karaoke to spice things up compliments of Lori singer.

Singer spoke to WBRE News too, "I just really enjoy the experience. This is a lot of fun. We look forward to it every year."

Not far from there, there's a lot more sweat and tears. Reporter Jill Konopka asks, "Would you say you overate? Jenn Swiderski of Nanticoke responded, "Oh yeah, definitely. You know everything turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, peas."

Jenn Swiderski is feeling a little guilty after the Thanksgiving holiday. Jenn said, "I just did three miles, probably lift weights and do the elliptical machine if I’m feeling ambitious."

David Piccone says he ate about 3-thousand calories worth of food. Piccone said, "I’m paying a little more attention to my speed and endurance today."

Wellness Director Linda Reilly says her students burned about 1,000 calories during that two-hour ride today.
