SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY

An agency that helps people in need is playing Santa in Scranton.

Friends of the Poor began distributing toys Wednesday to hundreds of families who have registered for help this year. The agency uses donations to buy the toys which are given to parents to present to their kids Christmas morning.

Sister Adrian Barrett who directs Friends of the Poor says that requests for assistance have gone up dramatically this year because of economic conditions.
