KINGSTON TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY -- Folks all over the area dropped a line in area waterways for the opening day of trout season.

People packed Frances Slocum State Park hoping for a big catch. Many make it a point to show up for the first day of trout, including Lewis Lee of Duryea who reeled in the 5-trout limit. "Every year I'm here the first day. I usually do pretty well. "I'm mainly a trout man. I love trout. Diehard trout fisherman. I'll be out here every day," he said.

John Baker of Swoyersville said, "Just being out here for the first day of trout, watching expressions on some of the kids' faces, some of the adults' faces it's just a good time. You don't have to catch fish."

Trout season started two weeks ago in 18 southeastern Pennsylvania counties. It's now underway throughout all 67 Pennsylvania counties.
