SOUTH CENTRE TWP., COLUMBIA COUNTY- A crash between two trucks caused more than just traffic trouble along Route 11 just outside Berwick.
Police say a tractor trailer collided with a tractor cab overnight flipping the cab and knocking down a utility pole. The impact brought down PPL lines and cut fiberoptic phone lines.
The tractor trailer then slammed into Bill's New and Used Tire, plowing through a garage door and damaging the building's exterior walls.
Bill McDermott said, "I got down here probably around 4:30. First they told me a pole fell on the building but I came down here and I see a trailer sticking out of it and I was like 'wow'. I think it is structurally damaged because it kind of kicked the walls out and the roof up, lifted it, moved it."
Bill's Tires is closed on Wednesdays anyway and McDermott is spending the day surveying the damage. Route 11 reopened around 8:00 A.M. as crews cleaned up the Columbia County crash scene.
