WRIGHT TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY- A trucking company is raising awareness for a child afflicted with Rett Syndrome.
4-year-old Francesca Scarano of Mountain Top has been diagnosed with the Neuro-developmental Disorder. The disease causes a deceleration in the growth of the head, hands and feet.
Jim Barrett, the owner of Rhodes Scholar Trucking, painted one of his cross country tractor trailers with Francesca's picture to help raise awareness of the disease.
The 18-wheeler was escorted by all the fire departments in the Mountain Top area for its maiden trip.
Barrett will donate one cent for every mile the truck travels towards the cure of Rett Syndrome.
