Police are investigating separate fatal traffic crashes in our area, including one that kept a Lycoming County road closed for several hours.

It happened around 7:30 Monday morning in Bastress Township along Route 654. Two vehicles collided near Jack’s Hallow Road.

So far, no word on the name of the victim.

In Monroe County, one-man is dead after his motorcycle and a pickup truck crashed head-on.

It happened Sunday night around 8:15 in Pocono Township. The motorcyclist veered into oncoming traffic on a curve along Warner Road.

The biker died at the scene. The truck driver wasn't seriously hurt but needed treatment for a forehead injury.

Police haven't released the name of the victim killed in the crash.
