The school week will start with grief counseling at a couple of local high schools. Two teenagers died in separate tragedies.
Mifflinburg Area High School will have counselors helping students coping with the death of Anthony Hernandez. The 16-year-old sophomore died from a gunshot wound to the chest early Saturday morning at a West Buffalo Township home.
Another teen was handling the gun when it went off. Police aren't saying what -- if any charges -- they'll file.
And grief counselors will help Lackawanna Trail students cope with the death of a 16-year-old Dalton girl. Delaney Sandercock drowned Friday in a boating crash on Lake Winola.
Her father was driving the boat when he crashed into a barge. Divers searched four hours before finding the girl's body 50-feet deep in the lake.
Her 13-year-old brother, Evan, remains in fair condition at Janet Weis Children's Hospital while the father, Gregg Sandercock's condition is unavailable. | |
