WYALUSING, BRADFORD COUNTY - Two people are locked-up tonight in Bradford County. They're accused of an armed robbery early Thursday morning in Wyalusing.

What makes the crime shocking is the age of the suspects. State Police say 15-year-old Robert Phillips of Laceyville and 16-year-old Jordon Brown of Mehoopany are facing charges. Police say they used a loaded 12-gauge shotgun to rob the Dandy Mini Mart on Route Six.

They were caught just after midnight on Friday.

Almost every customer who stopped by the mini mart heard about the crime and the arrests.

"Nothing happens out here. We don't even have any police. We've got the state police but its peace and quiet out here mostly," Thomas Brown of Terrytown said.

Many customers expressed outrage at the age of the two suspects.

"I was shocked. I was thinking it would have been a lot older people involved. I was quite shocked, disappointed and saddened over it for their families and everyone else," Jeffrey Benjamin of West Burlington said.

"I don't know what is going on with some of these young people around here. We've got some awful good ones and then you get a couple bad ones," Al Wilbur of Wyalusing said.

Before going into the Dandy Mart, state police say the two teenage suspects waited out in the parking lot. They waited until there were no customers inside, put on ski masks and then went into the store.

Long-time customers say its unusual to hear about incidents like this in the northern tier.

"We hear of a lot of things in Scranton and down in that area, robberies everyday are quite common, but it seems to be moving closer to this area it seems," Benjamin said.

No one was hurt in the robbery. Both of the suspects will be charged as adults. They are locked-up on $60,000 in Bradford County.
