PAUPACK TWP., WAYNE COUNTY- Two teenagers are under arrest, charged with attempted murder in Wayne County. The two teenagers are accused of a drive by shooting early Saturday morning. And police say it was all over a stolen video game system.
17-year-old Anthony Navara wasn't happy to see Eyewitness News cameras minutes after he was arraigned on attempted murder charges Saturday night.
According to court papers, he's accused of opening fire on a home in the Wallenpaupack Lakes Estates development of Paupack Township. “It’s a very serious situation. Not only was the victim in danger, but neighbors, anyone that could have been in the neighborhood," said PA State Police Trooper Bill Satkowski.
No one was hurt, but police say Navara fired at least six shots into the home. The reason? He thought someone who lived there stole his X-Box video game system. “It’s an unusual occurrence, especially in this county, for such a trivial thing to lead to a drive-by shooting," added Satkowski.
17-year-old Michael Regan was also charged with attempted murder Saturday night. Troopers say he was the driver and hid the 9-millimeter gun at his home.
Both teenagers will be charged as an adult in connection with the shooting. And police say more charges could be filed. “It’s still under investigation, whether there were other people involved with it, but we do know that these two did conspire to commit these crimes over a video game," said Satkowski.
Besides the attempted murder charges, Michael Regan was also slapped with drug charges for selling cocaine. Both men are behind bars on $250,000 bail in Wayne County.
