WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- A centennial celebration was held today at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Church in Wilkes-Barre.

The congregation celebrated the church's rich history with a mass of Divine Liturgy. Stefan Soroka, Archbishop of Philadelphia, said, "It's a very happy occasion to express gratitude to God, to all our founders and all those who are presently so active in this parish now, a happy occasion."

Before World War II, the church celebrated 1,100 baptisms and 250 marriages in just one year.
