SCOTT TOWNSHIP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY - Firefighters in Lackawanna County are looking for the cause of an overnight house fire in Scott Township.
The building in the 100-block of Evelyn Street went up in flames just before 3:00 AM Saturday morning. Neighbors say the building was a summer house and was empty at the time.
No one was hurt. It took firefighters more than three hours to bring all of the flames under control.
"By the time I got outside from calling 911, the whole front porch was in big flames and it spread to the back pretty quickly. I'd say within a half-hour, it went from a little fire in the front to a huge fire all in the front of the house, way up above the tree line," neighbor M. J. Dougherty said.
Firefighters have not said if they think the overnight fire is suspicious. | |
