MOUNTAIN TOP, LUZERNE COUNTY- Vandals struck a soccer field before Mountain Top's opening day of soccer. Early Saturday morning Dorrance Township soccer organizers discovered someone vandalized the youth soccer field.

Tire ruts were found on the field and goal nets were destroyed. The games went on after a new net was brought in. Tom Sepela said, "You're just hurting the children of the Mountain Top area - Dorrance - Fairview - Right Township - that's really the people that you hurt in this."

Organizers say the damage is estimated at $3,000. Anyone with any information is asked to call state police.
