HANOVER TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY- The Holy Yosher Cemetery in Hanover Township was vandalized sometime over last weekend.
Sharon Baer visited her dad's grave on fathers day at the only to find kicked over tombstones, broken glass and nearly every American flag taken off veteran grave markers.
"It just breaks my hear that someone has no respect. That they live in this country and that there are men and women who have died for this country. There are men and women who are dying now and there's no respect," says Baer.
Vandals burned the American flags they stole.
It has Jewish World War II veteran Sam Greenberg furious. "How sinful, how shameful. And for this I served and gave blood. My fellow veterans gave blood. Can't we honor them in peace as they rest in peace hopefully?" says Greenberg.
About 20 tombstones were vandalized and 30 flags stolen. No arrests have been made. | |
