SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- A 50 year old tradition continues in Scranton Tuesday as the Koch-Conley American Legion Post # 121 conducted its annual Veteran's Day program.

A crowd of about 100 turned out for the program which featured remarks from Col. Wilbur Wolf, Commander, 55th Brigade, 109th Infantry, PANG. Col. Wolf asked for support for about 1,000 soldiers who are expected to be returning home from duty in Egypt and Afghanistan in the next 30 days. He also reminded the crowd that about 450 area soldiers are currently training for duty in Iraq.

Several Veteran's organizations placed wreaths at monuments to veterans on Courthouse Square during the ceremonies.
