EDWARDSVILLE, LUZERNE COUNTY -- The victim of an attempted sexual assault is speaking out in an exclusive interview with Eyewitness News.

Police say it happened Monday night around 9:00 on Davis Place in Edwardsville. A 27-year-old woman was walking down the alley when someone grabbed her from behind.

The attacker tried to take off her clothes. When the woman fought back she got stabbed seven times.

"I was taken off guard. Everything happened so fast but it seemed like an eternity I walked down there before. There's never been a problem. I'm not the afraid type. I don't let stuff like that hold me back from doing things. But I won't be walking down the alleyway any more," she told Lead I-Team Investigator Andy Mehalshick.

Right now there's no word on a suspect in the case.
