NEWFOUNDLAND, WAYNE COUNTY - Three people are behind bars after a violent home invasion Saturday morning in Wayne County.

State Police say it happened just before 5:00 AM at a home on Mill Creek Road in Newfoundland. Troopers say Jonathan Martinez, Cole Altemier and Dottie Edwards broke into the home of their friend to steal his $4,000 income tax refund.

Investigators say the suspects also beat up their friend, the homeowner, but they didn't get far and were taken into custody by State Police.

All three suspects are locked-up tonight on $500,000 bail in Wayne County.
