A murder investigation that started in Virginia moves through Schuylkill county.

Last night, police uncovered a getaway car in Reilly Township.

It was driven by a man accused of killing two people.

State police in Schuylkill Haven showed Eyewitness News a Jeep Cherokee they say Travis Slater dumped in a ravine off route 25 in Reilly Township.

Slater is accused of killing his brother in Virginia and ex-girlfriend in West Virginia.

He's been on the run since Friday, traveling to Syracuse, New York.

Police say he had engine troubles with the Jeep.

He ditched it in Schuylkill County because it was on the way.

When Slater dumped his jeep here in Reilly Township, police say he traveled to Pine Grove and stole a black Volkswagen.

He drove that stolen Volkswagen to West Virginia where a sheriff's deputy spotted him Saturday.

Fredrick County , Virgina sheriff’s office investigator Dave Ellinger says West Virgina law enforcement "Recognized the driver as Justin Slater. The vehicle was stopped and Slater was arrested without incident. The vehicle Slater was driving had been reported stolen."

Now Slater is behind bars on first degree murder charges.

Sate police in Schuylkill Haven say the investigation is finished in Pennsylvania.

Slater is expected to be returned to Virginia after a hearing this week.

Police say he won't have to return to Pennsylvania for his stolen car charges.
