SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- Frederick Summerhill came into the Lackawanna County Courthouse Wednesday ready for sentencing.
Prosecutors say he stole nearly "55-thousand" dollars from the
Newton Ransom Volunteer fire company over a two year period.
Summerhill admitted to the crime ,but Judge Vito Geruolo said he could not sentence him. The Judge said Summerhill never accepted responsibility for his actions.
According to court papers, Summerhill wrote 96 checks to himself, but now maintains the money was used for fire equipment
