In Dallas , a group of volunteers is getting ready for Wednesday’s John McCain visit to Wilkes-Barre .

Eyewitness news reporter Mike Trim talked with the volunteers today.

They’re getting ready at Chris Hackett’s office in Dallas .

Brandon Danz is "dotting the i" on his freshly painted sign.

"I want him to know that people on the ground in northeast Pennsylvania are behind him 100 percent and are going to vote for him on election day. He's going win big," says Danz.

Volunteers are also making phone calls, asking people to come to the Kirby Center Wednesday.

More than a thousand people could show up.

These volunteers want their support shown front and center.

George Farrell talks about why he's backing McCain.

"Has the strong convictions to make the not-so-popular decisions in order to get this country back on track to the traditional principles that our governing forefathers founded," says Farrell.

Peter Towey of Dallas agrees, and calls McCain a straight shooter.

He says, "I think he's, you know a man of principle, man of values. He stands up for what he believes in even if it's going to lose him votes. I mean he's willing to tell you the truth for better or worse."

And Wednesday, these volunteers hope to hear that message first hand.
