0/ 5 rating WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY -- Officials in Wilkes-Barre are reminding drivers about the city's ban on using handheld cell phones while driving.

Warning signs were posted this week and more will be going up in the coming weeks to inform the public about the law. The ban went into effect in April.

Drivers can no longer dial, answer, talk, text or browse the web on handheld phones while driving. The law includes a three month "warning period."

Drivers caught violating the ban face a $75 fine.
