Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County -
Investigators say the victim is 44 year old Mark Eastmond. He was found beaten to death in his third floor apartment. Neighbors smelled a strong odor and called the landlord who found the body.

The crime tape and biohazard warning are across the door. The body was here at least four days. There had been a rumor that drugs were involved. Sources close to the case say that appears not to be the case.

Eyewitness News talked with a man who lives next door. He did not want to be identified. The neighbor said, "He was a very nice guy. He helped me out anyway he could. He went to work everyday. A real nice guy. It is terrible. People are going crazy. I guess its crazy."

Bobby Pascucci runs a grocery store nearby by. Eastmond was in the store just about everyday. Pascucci says, "I felt bad for him. He's a hell of a nice guy well trusted and a good customer."
