We're finding out a lot more about a man who killed his daughter and then himself.
Clark Steele of Springville Township shot his 13-year old daughter Oliva Steele Monday morning.
And we may never know why he did it.
A warrant was issued for Clark Steele's arrest the same day he killed his daughter, then himself.
In December 2006, Clark Steele was arrested for driving under the influence.
Police reports say a minor was in the car with him.
He was charged with dui, and wreckless endangerment of another person.
His sentence...12 months probation and fines.
But he never paid those fines, totaling more than 13 hundred dollars.
He had a court date for non-payment on June 27th here at the Susquehanna County courthouse, but he didn't show up.
A warrant was issued for his arrest Monday, June 30 th , the same day he killed his daughter, then himself.
Public records also show Steele owed nearly 7 thousand dollars in overpaid unemployment.
He also owed more than 500 dollars in back taxes.
Olivia Steele just finished 7th grade here at Elk Lake Secondary School in Susquehanna County .
Grief counselors will be on hand at the school Wednesday night to console her classmates.
Eyewitness news talked with the Steele family buy phone, and understandably they didn't want to go on camera.
They say Steele was a good father, and there was no history of abuse with his daughter. | |
