TANNERSVILLE, MONROE COUNTY - Camelbeach Water Park paused the playing to bring in some patriotism. The Pennsylvania Army National Guard lead the Memorial Day Weekend ceremony.

Park visitors honored the real meaning of the holiday with a moment of silence. Sergeant Frank Boehme Junior said, "We appreciate that a lot and we respect that."

National Guard Sergeant Eric Bussman told Eyewitness News the ceremony meant a lot to his unit. He explained, "It's a time of celebration but it's also a time of remembrance of those who have passed. It's the more important thing to remember."

Many of his fellow soldiers have died in Iraq and Afghanistan. People like his friend Leuitenant Jeff Deprimo gave their lives. "He was a great guy," remembered Bussman.

Customers appreciated the ceremony. Keith Powell of Halstead said, "You gotta take time out to respect our fallen heroes and the ones who are over there fighting for our freedoms."

Even the kids agreed. Young Kyra Powell said, "We're supposed to honor the fallen and pay our respects so I think it was wonderful."

Honoring the fallen on a weekend when we show our thanks and celebrate the freedom they gave us.
