Police say a Pike County woman walked in to a wedding reception and stole envelopes full of cash.

Kelly Olszyk was in court Tuesday.

Police say she crashed more than one wedding.

Olszyk crashed these receptions right in the middle of the summer wedding season.

Police say she stole more than one thousand dollars worth of gifts to pay for her heroin addiction.

Ehrhardts banquet center sits on Lake Wallenpaupak ...a picturesque place for a wedding reception.

But on June 15th one reception got an uninvited guest.

We asked Olszyk why she would steal from a wedding at her preliminary hearing Tuesday morning in Hawley.

She had no comment.

Olszyk apparently walked right up to a wedding gift box with envelopes full of cash and helped herself.

The family celebrating the wedding was from New York City .

They weren't here Tuesday as Olszyk waived her preliminary hearing.

Ehrhardts ownership has been waiting for an arrest.

Owner Eric Ehrhardt said, "Well we're certainly happy someone was caught."

Ehrhardt says his banquet center has hosted thousands of receptions for 15 years and this is the first time someone's stole from a reception.

"We have changed our policies since then as far as envelopes go, tighter security than we've had in other years. We're fortunate that she was caught," said Ehrhardt.

Police say this wasn't the only reception Olszyk crashed.

They say she stole from another summer wedding celebration in Monroe County .

Olszyk's defense attorney Matthew Galasso says she's cooperating with the investigation.

“It does appear that she's remorseful and she is willing to accept responsibility for her actions," said Galasso.

Olszyk was already in the Monroe County prison on unrelated charges.

If she's found guilty, she'll likely be asked to pay back all the stolen gift money.
