SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- A weekend apartment house fire in Scranton has been ruled a case of arson. City and State Police along with the Lackawanna County District Attorney's Office are investigating the blaze.

Meanwhile a neighborhood improvement group in Scranton has been accepting donations for 11 people displaced by the blaze.

The fire, in an apartment building on North Main Avenue, broke out early Saturday morning, February 16th. Tenants and about a half a dozen neighbors were forced out by the flames and heavy smoke conditions.

A neighborhood group know as 'CHAIN' has been receiving clothing and personal items for the victims. One caller offered a house he is buying in Freeland to house fire victims on a temporary basis.
