You may have noticed a few changes here at WBRE. There’s a new set, new equipment, a new format and even some new faces. They’re all designed to bring you the best newscast in Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania.

Here’s a little of what you can expect from Eyewitness News…

News can happen anywhere at any time. Sometimes it is dramatic. Sometimes it is even tough to watch. We know these images are not just stories for a newscast. They impact our daily lives. They impact our communities. WBRE Eyewitness News is now taking our coverage to an even higher level. It’s a more aggressive approach.

WBRE News Director Ron Krisulevicz says, "I think the first thing that's going to jump out at the viewer is an aggressive and urgent sense of news and story telling. We're excited to be able to re-introduce Eyewitness News to our viewers. It’s a news format that relies on our viewers to share their stories, hear their insights, on news that happens in their communities."

And that includes a brand new home with hi-tech tools. WBRE Executive Producer Mark Davis says, "There are certainly a lot of cosmetic changes that the viewers are instantly going to see. We are deploying a brand new set we are very proud of, with hi-tech tools. It’s very bright, it’s new, to highlight an aggressive style of news reporting we want to establish as far as Eyewitness News is concerned."

It’s all about getting to the truth. Davis added, "They're going to see a better way to showcase our reporters and the stories from the people in our viewing area. It's all about story telling. We already have the hardest working, most experienced reporting staff, in the market. This is a better way to showcase those stories through the eyes and ears of our viewers. That's what it’s all about."

Each morning beginning at 5AM join Eva Mastromatteo and Doug Currin as they bring you the news of the day along with Rusty Fender’s traffic updates and Kristi Capel’s weather forecast. Following the Today show on NBC the team gets you caught up on what’s happening in your community each morning at 11AM.

Then from at 5:00-6:30 and again at 11:00PM join Drew Speier and Candice Kelly as they bring you up-to-date with what’s happened each day. Andy Mehalshick will be live on location with the big story of the day. You’ll also stay on top of the latest consumer news with Jeff Chirico and Phil Schoener continues to bring you the best coverage of the local sports teams.

Chief Meteorologist Josh Hodell has the area’s most accurate forecast from a new state-of-the-art weather center as well as the WBRE Rooftop Weather Center. He’ll track the storms using the new Live Eye Doppler Radar system, which shows you what’s happening on your street – right now!

We hope you’ll continue to join us or if you’re new to us, welcome, and we hope to see you each and every day!
