Wilkes-Barre and Plains Twp. Murder Investigations - Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at 12:21PM EST

Luzerne County- Work is piling up in the Luzerne County District Attorney's office. A deadly weekend stabbing is now under investigation.

And the man suspected in a nightclub stabbing last month is returned to the area to face charges.

Eugene Lamp Davis was charged with homicide in Plains Township Monday.
Police say he killed Ronald Gabriel by slashing his neck from behind at Energy 21 & Diablos nightclubs..
U-S Marshals located Davis in Amityville, New York and returned him to Luzerne County Detectives Monday night
No bail has been set for Davis because this is a homicide case.

In Wilkes-Barre a weekend stabbing victim has died. The D. A. says this is now a murder investigation.
On Monday night, Dan Blanchfield shows us where Sandra White was apparently stabbed.
The Kings College student lives in the 200 block of North Main Street. "There was just a bunch of us.
It was around 10:30 or so. Nothing really was going on yet."

But Dan says he heard some commotion.
And he saw the 42-year-old woman lying face-down in the middle of North Main Street.

"I thought maybe she passed out or something." says Blanchfield
"I was walking over to pick up and put her on the side of the street or wake her up."

He says there was a lot of blood. White was unable to talk.
Police got there quickly, and white was taken away by ambulance.
She later died at Wilkes-Barre general.
On Monday, investigators labeled it a homicide.

"We're talking to individuals who may have information". says District Attorney Jackie Musto Carroll
"I don't have any information to release to the public at this point, except to say I don't believe anyone else is in danger."

Detectives believe the stabbing was random.
There's no word if police recovered a weapon.
The DA says if too much information is released, the investigation could be hampered.
Plus, this is one more case on top of a growing pile. "We're at a record high." says Musto Carroll.
"It's seems as though every time we resolve a case, either through trial or a guilty plea, one or more cases come in to take their place."
