COUNTY- The federal department of transportation has rejected the first round of bids for service at the

Williamsport

Regional

Airport . Three commercial airlines submitted bids, all asking for more than three million dollars annually in federal subsidies. D. O.T. officials say they're not willing to pay that much at an airport that's never required government money in the past. The situation stems from US Airways' decision to terminate flights at Williamsport Regional. The federal department of transportation will now solicit another round of bids. Those bids are due by September 15th.
