WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY- Residents in the Newberry section of Williamsport can look forward to expanded fire protection services.

Mayor Gabe Campana and Fire Chief Dean Heimbach announced Monday the relocation of the Fire Prevention and Education Division to the Special Operations Center at 200 Reighard Avenue.

The city will now staff a reserve fire engine in the building and two extra crew members.

Assistant Fire Chief Tom Swigart and Fire Inspector John Dewald will now be stationed at the Reighard Avenue building, which also houses the Williamsport Emergency Operations Center.
